Questions.
- How is the fee that holds the rate worked out?
- It keeps your effective rate, your retainer as a share of their spend, the same as when you agreed it, and applies that rate to today's spend. It is a proposal to take to the client, not a measurement of money you are owed.
- Why does it say my fee is fine when their spend rose a little?
- Media budgets drift a few percent a month on their own. The check only flags a rise of 20% or more, because below that a conversation about the fee is mostly noise.
- What if their spend has more than doubled?
- Rate cards usually taper as spend grows, and this check does not know yours. When spend has more than doubled it shows the figure but marks it a ceiling, so use it to open the conversation.
- Does this work if I charge a flat fee or by the hour?
- Only partly. It measures your fee as a share of the spend you manage. If you price on hours or deliverables there is no spend ratio to fall behind, so compare the work you are doing now with the work you agreed, instead of the ratio.
This is three numbers. Your whole book is the real list.
Add each client's retainer in ClientFalcon and it ranks the whole book by who has outgrown their fee, with the evidence behind every figure.
